Your initial appointment will start with an in-depth consultation covering your medical history, symptoms, and lifestyle. This helps us diagnose what has brought you into the clinic. We like to ensure we cover all the necessary information and really get a feel for what the problem is and how it is affecting your everyday life, so plan to be with us for roughly 75 minutes.
During this initial appointment, we will take a case history, check vitals, and use various tests to assess orthopaedic and neurological factors that might be involved.
If we have time and it is appropriate for your indiviual case, we may treat you during this initial appointment; however, if the case is complicated, we may defer treatment to the second appointment.
We will always try our best to keep you informed throughout the process. It is extremely important to us that you fully understand what is happening and why at every stage. Should treatment be offered, we will fully explain the treatment methods and why we have chosen them. We will always ask for consent before we carry out any treatment.

We will ask for your consent and begin the treatment plan at this stage.
If we covered all this information in the initial appointment, or admistered treatment at your initial visit, we would also discuss how you felt after the previous session, as this can help us fine-tune the treatment plan.
Ideally, loose-fitting clothes. Depending on the area in which you are experiencing pain, we may need access to fully assess it; in fact, we prefer to get full access to evaluate the injured area. This is what we term palpation, a technical word for using our hands to assess the area, specifically in comparison to the non-injured side.
We can provide a gown should this be easier. So do not panic if you are not in ideal clothing on arrival.

Chiropractic, a widely recognised safe practice, is conducted by trained and registered chiropractors. These professionals have undergone an extensive 4-year full-time education at degree level or above. It's important to remember that, like all manual therapies, such as sports massage, any mild discomfort or temporary side effects are expected to last for 24-72 hours post-treatment and do not indicate any safety concerns.
We do, however. You would need to pay me directly, take a receipt for the payment to your insurance company, and claim this back.
We highly recommend checking with your policy provider before booking treatment if this is how you intend to pay.
Simply put, no.
Chiropractic treatment is not typically available through the NHS. Instead, you will receive treatment directly from the clinic you visit. However, you are free to inform your GP about your chiropractic treatment if you wish. In some circumstances, we may refer you back to your GP for further investigations before providing treatment.
We will discuss any findings requiring referral and gain consent before contacting your GP.
